Dear Hummingbird #6 : Season 1 finale!
“Sometimes you make the right decision, sometimes you make the decision right.” ― Phillip C. McGraw
Greetings fellow CA aspirants!
We apologize for going MIA without any notice (much like Zepto’s 10 min delivery). Life caught us without our guards on.
During this time we tried to synthesize if we have done some justice to our mission of providing candid advice through this column.
Here’s what we think:
We wanted to give an outline to the process hence we tried to adopt a step-ladder approach to answering the queries, starting with college and moving to industrial training.
We were true in our advice and what we believe in. We tried to include all the caveats, exceptions and harsh truths, putting the issue under the spotlight and viewing it from as many lenses as possible.
Did we answer all the questions? No!
Did we do a 80/20 to cover a larger audience? Yes!
Of late we have been doubting all our decisions and the decision to wrap this season was no different. Do you know about the concept of ‘Bounded rationality’?
Bounded rationality describes the way that humans make decisions that departs from perfect economic rationality, because our rationality is limited by our thinking capacity, the information that is available to us, and time. Instead of making the 'best' choices, we often make choices that are satisfactory.
We realized we have been thinking too much. In the end almost all the questions readers asked boils down to just one question - Making choices!
We overthink because we are worried about taking the right decisions but isn’t life a constant string of decision making, what makes you more concerned with this course are the stakes involved right?
The only solution to get over this anxiety is to look at the larger picture - not just an individual who wants to get through the course but you as an individual, you as a part of the fraternity, you as a part of the working population, you as a part of the society and what you bring to the table.
Think about yourself! Decide for yourself! Make satisfactory choices!
I have always felt that a human being could only be saved by another human being. I am aware that we do not save each other very often. But I am also aware that we save each other some of the time. ~ James Baldwin
We hope we were helpful in making some of these decisions. Thanks for pouring in all the love and endearment, we really appreciate it.
Will we be back soon? We are yet to decide. 🤔
Until next time,
Take care and feed your soul!
Warmly,
Hummingbird
