Dear reader,
I planned enormously on how I would read a book everyday when I get the time to but alas life happened and I am left with only some time crumbs to nibble on in the form of newsletters, poetry and a few things here and there.
This is a rendition of ‘things that just tick and stick’ with you without much effort, writers and genres I really enjoy reading/listening to. Hope they tick with you as well.
Note: If my emails end up in the ‘promotions’ tab, please move them to the inbox so you don’t miss out.
Let’s begin, shall we?!
Take that sweet break, take it on Evolving and Enough by Raju Tai (Newsletter)
As eccentric as the name sounds, Raju Tai was one of favorite finds in the past few months. Too sad that she is on a break now, but I keep re-reading one of these brilliant posts she wrote on taking a break.
Yeah, now read it in full. It gets more annoying and interesting, but it will definitely nudge you to take a walk in the end. GET OUT OF YOUR BED!
Episode - Mumbai on Midnight Asia on Netflix (Travel Docuseries)
Food and travel documentaries for snacks please!
I gobble food docuseries without taking a breath. From watching the OG Chef’s Table to snacking on Street Food Asia and Latin America, watching Somebody Feed Phil for fun and learning from Nadiya. I consume them all!
Midnight Asia is a six-part docuseries featuring six of Asia’s cosmopolitans in each episode: Manila, Bangkok, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, and Mumbai. In its 35-minute or so airtimes, each chapter highlights the authentic street food culture, music extraordinaire, and subculture events that shape the vibrant, bustling nightlives of these cities.
New Insights from Sam Harris, Dr. Peter Attia, Ramit Sethi, and Elizabeth Gilbert on Tim Ferriss Podcast
A cocktail of the best content from some of the best podcasters.
This episode is a mix of 15-30 clips of notable podcast clips from the OGs’ themselves. Sam Harriss is a pioneer of philosophy and meditation, Peter Attia talks about health and wellness, Ramit Sethi takes a dig on optimal spending through couple’s therapy and Elizabeth Gilbert just being her.
We live in a culture that says you should be able to power through anything. Life will very generously remind you that you cannot, and it will very generously break you at times and very generously show you. — Elizabeth Gilbert

“... the exhausted can no longer possibilitate.” on Omissions and Outtakes by Arushi Vats (Newsletter + Prose)
I adore writers who pay less heed to cadence but deliver outstanding work which resonate you for long whenever they write. Arushi is one of them. This peace is an exhaustion is a one-stop resource on good reading recommendations and a beautiful poem.
What exhaustion seeks is revolution, what tiredness needs is comfort. Tiredness wants to be told that things will rearrange themselves as they once were. Exhaustion knows that is not possible.
Wait by Galway Kinnell
Wait.
Don’t go too early.
You’re tired. But everyone’s tired.
But no one is tired enough.
Only wait a little and listen:
music of hair,
music of pain,
music of looms weaving our loves again.
Be there to hear it, it will be the only time,
most of all to hear your whole existence,
rehearsed by the sorrows, play itself into total exhaustion.
It’s Mainstream to Hate the Mainstream on Medium by More to That (Essay)
If you are a firm believer of how art/illustration changes the whole tempo of writing and makes things lucid, you need to check out More to That.
A wholesome blog written by Lawrence Yeo which challenges our perception and ideas with logic and cute illustrations. This article did just that.
I was always under the impression that mainstream media is shitty and reading long-form is elitist (to suffice my ego I suppose) but here’s the truth - everything has it’s time and place, there’s nothing wrong in consuming mainstream media as long as you are enjoying/learning from it.
There’s a reason why mainstream becomes mainstream.
That’s all for this time!
