Hello Nellow!
Last few days have been deeply exhausting, I have been sleeping really odd hours and daily rituals/schedule have gone for a toss. Well, upcoming week looks hopeful and I am excited to steal time from my 15 hr workday to read/listen/watch. Hereās a quick TBR list and things I am excited to explore this week.

Days at the Morisaki Bookshop | Satoshi Yagisawa
I have been dedicating time to read translated works since past few months and this book was a nomination for a book club today, so seemed like a perfect opportunity to dig in.
Takako is 25 years old and just got dumped. She's depressed, lonely and after quitting her job, a bit aimless. One day her Uncle Satoru calls her. He runs the family used bookstore in JimbÅchÅ, the book shop district in Tokyo. He could use her help, and with nothing else going on, she finally caves and goes to see what she can make of her life there.
This is a super sweet, simple story about rediscovering oneself, falling in love with books, and the many ways we can connect with other people when we take a second to get to know them on a bit of a deeper level.
Cleopatra and Frankenstein | Coco Mellors
This book was discussed during our book swap event last weekend and it piqued my curiosity because I havenāt read romance in a while. I am just gonna steal from the book blurb because thatās how I was sold.
Twenty-four-year-old British painter Cleo has escaped from England to New York and is still finding her place in the sleepless city when, a few months before her student visa ends, she meets Frank. Twenty years older and a self-made success, Frank's life is full of all the excesses Cleo's lacks. He offers her the chance to be happy, the freedom to paint, and the opportunity to apply for a Green Card. But their impulsive marriage irreversibly changes both their lives, and the lives of those close to them, in ways they never could've predicted.
Lessons in Chemistry | Bonnie Garmus
Thanks to Apple TV for showing me this trailer, any show related to food - I am sold. Harry Styles āSign of the timesā in the background is to die for.
As soon as I saw the trailer, I realised I have seen this name on a book and it took me less than 5 mins to order it right away. Very excited to read it and then watch the show.
The Three-Body Problem | Cixin Liu
I have got some pretty solid recommendations on this trilogy and now that Netflix has adapted it, right on time to read the set to be able to critique later :D
Science Fiction, Alien, Fantasy, Translated - a BIG YES!
Reference from blurb:
Set against the backdrop of China's Cultural Revolution, a secret military project sends signals into space to establish contact with aliens. An alien civilization on the brink of destruction captures the signal and plans to invade Earth. Meanwhile, on Earth, different camps start forming, planning to either welcome the superior beings and help them take over a world seen as corrupt, or to fight against the invasion.
1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle | Piece Puzzle
Laura from Before Breakfast podcast has been raving about her love for puzzles, so last year I ordered this one as a gift for my partner (partly selfish move for a cute couple activity). We finally found time after a year to start building it.
Six hours gone in a flash and it is still WIP but it is SO MUCH FUN. Your brain is totally engaged in a flow state with abosultely no distraction. You should try it too.
Thatās all for this time folks, gotta completed the puzzle!
